"This is a narrative that describes the urgency that compels me and millions more to push for a different American story than the one being told today. It's a story that is one part danger, one part action, and all true. It's a story about how and why we fight for our democracy and win."                                    Goodreads.com

This is very timely as Stacey Abrams has announced

A SPECIAL INVITATION FOR CITIZEN INPUT
December 10, 2021
A Workshop on LAND USE in La Crosse County

Envision 2050
Friday, December 10       Everyone Welcome
Noon - 1:30

A special Zoom meeting is scheduled for League members and interested La Crosse County residents to voice our opinions & help brainstorm ideas that could be used in programs, policies & plans for La Crosse County in the next decade.

The La Crosse County Board is currently developing policies and drafting language that will be included in La Crosse County’s Comprehensive Plan. The policies in the comprehensive plan, once approved, will impact land development in county municipalities for years to come. The county expects to schedule public hearings on a draft of the plan as early as February.

The 12/10 workshop will be an opportunity for you to learn about the various land use alternatives the County is considering and also a forum for you to share your views on disparate options for land development. The focus is on development outside of the city limits. The county is facilitating.

In the email confirming your registration, you will receive the Zoom link and links to resources providing some additional background information that could be helpful prior to your participation in the workshop.

This workshop is a collaboration between the League of Women Voters of La Crosse County, the La Crosse County Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, and UW-Extension.

Recommended Recordings...
a selection of recordings to educate
The League of Women Voters of the La Crosse Area website has many resources to enhance our learning. One of the ways we have been able to continue to learn and grow over these past eighteen months is through the proliferation of zoom meetings and seminars, many of which are then recorded so we can view them later. Here is a selection available on our website at this time. Use the link at the bottom to go to the page to access each of these valuable resources.
